It was my 36th birthday in May and my friends were planning a socially distanced celebration, however the week before hand Queensland lifted restrictions early so we were able to have a small picnic in a park instead.</div>

<span style="text-align: center;">I've used old Kaisercraft papers (Blue Bay maybe?) and a Scrapmatts chipboard piece. As I went to sort the 100 or so layouts I need to put in albums I realised I have so many I haven't even dated. 🤦♀️ While it's fun to create them at the time, when I look back later I'm much more interested in the story, which I may have forgotten if I didn't bother with journalling. This time I made sure to incorporate at least some basic facts. </span><br>

The layout was inspired by the current challenge at <a href="http://scrap-the-girls.blogspot.com/?m=1">Scrap the Girls</a>, which is a very versatile sketch. I love using sketches as my starting point for layouts, even if the finished product sometimes looks entirely different.</div>

My entry for this month's Scrap The Girls challenge is reminiscing about the days when my sister could fly up from VIC to QLD so we could drive over the border to NSW just to hang out at an overcrowded tourist attraction. 😥
. I had taken her up to the Cape Byron Lighthouse on previous visits but it had always been too busy to get a car park. On this visit we just decided to park down at one of the beaches and walk the track up to the lighthouse instead. Its was beautiful, but much hotter and longer than we had expected.</div>

This is my first layout since giving birth to Lily back in April (the other design teams ones were completed ahead of schedule and revealed at the start of each month). I'm a little bit rusty and it took ages to complete as I could only work on it in 10 minute gaps of time. Still, it was good to be back creating and I'm happy I finally got these photos scrapped. I even used some old rub-ons from deep in my stash!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The theme for July at <a href="http://scraptheboys.blogspot.com/">Scrap The Boys</a> is roadtrips/adventures. We used to live in an estate which didn't have a back fence, it just opened out into some parkland. One morning Harrison decided to just hop on his trike and ride away to explore the park. Given he was only two at the time I was keeping a close eye on him so just followed behind as he went exploring. :)</div>

I've used some cut files on this layout, from the July sponsor <a href="https://createdbygwen.com.au/?fbclid=IwAR1t-xZS-DLf1E44kTtpUuBqlOlDs950qVlAGuh1jbsI_sujRl65TfNnNI4">Cut to You</a>. I found out my mum has a cutting machine, though she didn't know how to use it so got dad to cut the files for me. There are some great designs available at Cut to You, check them out!<br />

I took these photos in December 2016 and have been meaning to scrapbook them every since but somehow never got around to it. I'm so happy to finally have them done! Does anyone else do this too or are you much more organised when it comes to your scrapbooking?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The challenge for <a href="http://scraptheboys.blogspot.com/">Scrap The Boys</a> this month is 'Me and My Best Friend'. It doesn't have to be a dog, just the special male in your life and an animal.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SGXuMesga5E/XJ7AmhtHu8I/AAAAAAAAfAA/i8ut9IMkXAIcJ8GfEOjqItIGgMWwu-OJACLcBGAs/s1600/June%2BSTB.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SGXuMesga5E/XJ7AmhtHu8I/AAAAAAAAfAA/i8ut9IMkXAIcJ8GfEOjqItIGgMWwu-OJACLcBGAs/s320/June%2BSTB.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Harrison loves reuniting with Josh, his grandparent's dog, every time we visit. They live in a different state so we can only catch up a couple of times a year. At first, they are both way too rambunctious and have to be closely monitored to make sure neither of them get hurt. The longer we stay though, the more they settle into a routine and by the time we leave after 1-2 weeks, they are normally perfect companions and follow each other around like shadows. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Lots of Kaisercraft products on this layout. I'm using up some OLD paper stash, the stencil and cracked open a newish embellishment pack. I'm not normally one to use lots of the die cuts on the one layout but I like the way this has turned out. Some washi tape, buttons and a flair were the finishing touches.</div>

With Mothers Day coming up this month, Scrap the Boys went with a 'mother' theme for our inspiration this month. I really enjoyed getting to create a more girly layout after the run of boy layouts.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I've used photos from Harry's 1st birthday photo shoot. Papers are an assortment of Kaisercraft ranges and single sheets. I love creating mixed media layouts but I started scrapbooking at a time when I was just about layering paper and I can't quite move away from that entirely. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-35jOjNeA_FY/XExL6KwUd8I/AAAAAAAAeyg/QImonCO-6G8E_IkVVmu1cTdo1MmipxP8QCEwYBhgL/s1600/His%2BMumma.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1518" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-35jOjNeA_FY/XExL6KwUd8I/AAAAAAAAeyg/QImonCO-6G8E_IkVVmu1cTdo1MmipxP8QCEwYBhgL/s640/His%2BMumma.jpg" width="606" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Just a simply little embellishment cluster in the top right to balance out the page. Ignore the black smudges, that's what I get for working on a messy desk. :(</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Vqh2KTnSAgk/XExLg1EmShI/AAAAAAAAeyY/1VpCwslhkTc1f7xB8D2HK2DBtYv1gVvEQCEwYBhgL/s1600/20190126_212032.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Vqh2KTnSAgk/XExLg1EmShI/AAAAAAAAeyY/1VpCwslhkTc1f7xB8D2HK2DBtYv1gVvEQCEwYBhgL/s400/20190126_212032.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Lots of goodies in this embellishment cluster. Most of it came from the D-Lish Scraps JAP kit Slice of Summer which I won for taking part in one of their cybercrop challenges. </div>

My husband commented the other day that professional photos was one of my 'weaknesses' and I think he's right: I'm up for a photoshoot for any occasion. Because I browse so many professional photographers I have pretty high standards too, which leads to choosing more expensive photographers. Still, as I look back on the memories we've captured as our family I still consider it to be money well spent. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-L6moCMX7Doo/XKnot0o2cJI/AAAAAAAAfBI/5hdmLTbSxz4oY2rlWpjHekX-1-Yd4pShQCLcBGAs/s1600/20190407_214208.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1594" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-L6moCMX7Doo/XKnot0o2cJI/AAAAAAAAfBI/5hdmLTbSxz4oY2rlWpjHekX-1-Yd4pShQCLcBGAs/s640/20190407_214208.jpg" width="636" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
This layout celebrates the photos I had taken during my two pregnancies. The dark background photo is from 2014 and I think I was around 33 weeks pregnant. The light background photo is from this year and I was 36 weeks pregnant.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I received a Kaisercraft paper pack a few years ago with 12x12 papers, mini paper pad and collectables but never opened it for some reason. I found them again during my recent craft room clean up so decided to use them for this layout. It's got a mix of pre-printed wreath, collectables and fussy cut flowers. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also added some texture paste through a stencil and some Kaisermist in green for added interest in the background. </div>

This layout was created for the <a href="https://scrap-the-girls.blogspot.com/">Scrap The Girls</a> challenge this month, which is 'Knock Your Socks Off' along with the below image. I married my high school sweetheart so don't really have an ex-boyfriend but the image and the theme made me think of self-confidence. Both these photoshoots made me feel so confident and beautiful so I thought they suited the theme well.</div>

My son had a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles themed 4th birthday party. It was so much fun watching him interact with his new friends from daycare, seeing how they have progressed from playing next to each other to actually playing together.</div>

The theme for April at <a href="http://scraptheboys.blogspot.com/">Scrap the Boys</a> is 'Lets Eat Cake' so featuring any celebration or event. I went quite literal with my photo choices, featuring the amazing cake my husband created for Harry's 4th birthday.</div>

Welcome to my layout for the March challenge over at <a href="http://scraptheboys.blogspot.com/">Scrap the Boys</a>. This is a photo from the newborn shoot we had for my now Mr 4.5year old. It's a bit weird to think that in another 1-2 months I'll be having another one of these shoots for our baby girl.</div>

If you're interested in joining in this month, here is the lovely inspiration image. I obviously went with the stars theme and blue colour scheme. The rest of the team has interpreted it in a variety of ways so make sure you check out the blog to see them all. </div>

The lovely scribble star stamps and 'Reach for the Stars' stamp are all from a Paper Roses set. The textured background stamp is Kaisercraft. The 'have big dreams' stamp is from Uniquely Creative. The flairs, sequins and star stencil come from D-Lish Scraps.</div>

I really like overall effect of this layout, though the blue/grey background stamping hasn't really shown up too well in these photos. If you look closely, you can see there are also white gesso stars through the background area. </div>

Super excited to be sharing my very first layout as part of the <a href="http://scraptheboys.blogspot.com/">Scrap the Boys</a> design team! I've following this challenge site for a while now and they always have amazing challenges and inspiration. Hopefully my work encourages you to come join in too!</div>

Here is the inspiration mood board for February. I ran with the colour scheme and the overlapping rectangles as my design inspiration for the layout. Most of the materials are from Cocoa Vanilla Studios. Photo shows my little man after being awarded his blue medal at tennis, which represents attending 36 lessons. He is loving learning this sport and his teacher says he is a dedicated student.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So this canvas was created for a friend at work, who had asked for a similar piece to one I've done before with a Romanian woman to reflect her heritage. I love doing these canvas pieces and am running out of room to keep them in my craft room so was happy to make one to give away. I thought I'd whip up a quick tutorial as well while I was at it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My top tips for mixed media work:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1. Don't fall in love with the first couple of layers - realistically you're just going to cover most of these up.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
2. Ensure you have contrast. Whether that's highlights of black/white or a pop of a different colour, you need something that stands out.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
3. Don't be afraid to make mistakes, you can always cover them up if you really hate the effect </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mAvAnC6y4lw/XEPOj_psL0I/AAAAAAAAevI/bzKT7g4XGI49MQU1dQvg6u53rXdAvknRwCLcBGAs/s1600/20190111_202852.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mAvAnC6y4lw/XEPOj_psL0I/AAAAAAAAevI/bzKT7g4XGI49MQU1dQvg6u53rXdAvknRwCLcBGAs/s320/20190111_202852.jpg" width="319" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
First step for me when creating any mixed media piece is to lay down the background texture. Here I've used a book page, builders tape and crackle paste through a stencil. Because I'm working on a canvas, this was already primed with gesso. If you were creating on paper it's normally a good idea to give it a coat of clear or white gesso first to minimise warping.</div>

I covered the whole thing with three shades of red/orange acrylic paint, blending them together as I spread the paint by spraying them with water to thin them out a little. This has actually blended them a bit more than I would have liked but I wasn't going to stress about it.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-v_0SldlsXW0/XEPOjhJEtjI/AAAAAAAAevE/x7i_d7AFTXUXXucyX8MHa0rplF30sRNtgCLcBGAs/s1600/20190111_205145.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-v_0SldlsXW0/XEPOjhJEtjI/AAAAAAAAevE/x7i_d7AFTXUXXucyX8MHa0rplF30sRNtgCLcBGAs/s320/20190111_205145.jpg" width="319" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I applied some of the lightest orange acrylic paint to create circles on the background. I used a gelli plate to do this, with some ghost printing to create the lighter impressions. You could just as easily apply it directly through a stencil though.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bySy3EOqqUI/XEPOpKA0-KI/AAAAAAAAevU/rGIjQoaVEKM6UXezoHlDKAOY1v03d-CKgCLcBGAs/s1600/20190111_210208.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bySy3EOqqUI/XEPOpKA0-KI/AAAAAAAAevU/rGIjQoaVEKM6UXezoHlDKAOY1v03d-CKgCLcBGAs/s320/20190111_210208.jpg" width="319" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This photo combines two steps. I drizzled some blue misting ink along the top edge of the canvas, letting it pool and drink wherever it felt like. I decided the blue didn't suit what I was going for, so went over it again with a brown ink which has a blue shimmer to it, just to tone it down and create a few more drips. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Once that was dry, I applied the grey paint through a stencil. I wanted a really crisp design though and unfortunately my paint bled under the stencil. I just grabbed a baby wipe and whipped off all the grey paint. :)</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ANIGuupe-5M/XEPOoMSm53I/AAAAAAAAevQ/wVCsKHoVW58dL2dPP94T8cqFcxxDQZeHQCLcBGAs/s1600/20190111_211200.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1595" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ANIGuupe-5M/XEPOoMSm53I/AAAAAAAAevQ/wVCsKHoVW58dL2dPP94T8cqFcxxDQZeHQCLcBGAs/s320/20190111_211200.jpg" width="319" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Using the baby wipe to remove the paint gave me two lovely effects. Firstly, the grey paint stayed on the builders tape and highlighted that texture. I decided I liked the effect, so spread it around to the other areas with tape too. Whilst I was wiping the paint, it also took off the red paint from the top of the crackle paste, which made the stencil designs stand out more too so I repeated that over the whole canvas. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YuUnDDfv8pU/XEPOpcreF2I/AAAAAAAAevY/XQDvhTQudNQJ2eaYDZW2n_2Erb89dkF_wCLcBGAs/s1600/20190113_122006.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YuUnDDfv8pU/XEPOpcreF2I/AAAAAAAAevY/XQDvhTQudNQJ2eaYDZW2n_2Erb89dkF_wCLcBGAs/s320/20190113_122006.jpg" width="319" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I added a lot more interest to the background in this stage! I repeated the mist/ink drizzle at the bottom with a dark brown ink which I also flicked over the whole canvas, as well as some white ink. I've used white and brown pencils to highlight some of the orange circles. Lastly, I've applied some silver wax highlights to the crackle paste.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-40PBkE4IKfg/XEPOrdPa64I/AAAAAAAAevc/t-SxkBxIEwgm-mLvHi6sEkxhEC1PVa94ACLcBGAs/s1600/20190113_152122.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1597" data-original-width="1600" height="319" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-40PBkE4IKfg/XEPOrdPa64I/AAAAAAAAevc/t-SxkBxIEwgm-mLvHi6sEkxhEC1PVa94ACLcBGAs/s320/20190113_152122.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Once you're happy with the background, it's time to start building up the mid-ground. I used a paper doily, some cheesecloth and a ribbon off-cut. They were all glued down with matt gel medium.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #000120;"></span><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-z3TWkpf8hDs/XEPOuyt0NjI/AAAAAAAAevk/V2PMUxAQQoo1UESz3Lc18n0z6aXqCkxAwCLcBGAs/s1600/20190117_070223.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: transparent; color: #0066cc; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; margin-left: 16px; margin-right: 16px; orphans: 2; text-align: center; text-decoration: underline; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-z3TWkpf8hDs/XEPOuyt0NjI/AAAAAAAAevk/V2PMUxAQQoo1UESz3Lc18n0z6aXqCkxAwCLcBGAs/s320/20190117_070223.jpg" width="319" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b></b><i></i><u></u><strike></strike><br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The last step is to add your focal pieces. For me this was the Romanian woman after cutting her out and inking the edges in brown, along with the motivational stickers. I used a aquarelle pencil around the stickers to make them stand out a bit more too. Lastly, I added a couple more ribbons to the mid-ground as it was a little bit too plain otherwise. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-alrSTTDe6ms/XEPOuwoZ8dI/AAAAAAAAevg/35ZHF13dUEE50qaXIpjpGrt2p1xyaGhPQCLcBGAs/s1600/Scrapbooking.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1600" height="266" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-alrSTTDe6ms/XEPOuwoZ8dI/AAAAAAAAevg/35ZHF13dUEE50qaXIpjpGrt2p1xyaGhPQCLcBGAs/s400/Scrapbooking.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Hope you enjoyed the tutorial. If it inspires you to create something I'd love for you to share your project with me!</div>

<span style="color: #000120;">A quick art journal page I whipped up. This one has my musings on Mother's Day as the base layer, and then I've built up a range of stencils and freehand designs over the top of it.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aIVugWwyBe8/Wv1YKnB_HLI/AAAAAAAAehg/Rmiq8HpFlyMj2gGNO86KpdFrLNBdtknZQCLcBGAs/s1600/DSC01687.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1158" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aIVugWwyBe8/Wv1YKnB_HLI/AAAAAAAAehg/Rmiq8HpFlyMj2gGNO86KpdFrLNBdtknZQCLcBGAs/s400/DSC01687.JPG" width="288" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
While I like the end result, I think the purple was too dark to really capture the detail in the flowers.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8mZ0Ivxq3sw/Wv1YMh6OkqI/AAAAAAAAehk/gGkmnrb1t7wh_mvpxeKZcddBTFBm3LgOACLcBGAs/s1600/DSC01689.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8mZ0Ivxq3sw/Wv1YMh6OkqI/AAAAAAAAehk/gGkmnrb1t7wh_mvpxeKZcddBTFBm3LgOACLcBGAs/s320/DSC01689.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I liked trying a new technique with my stencils. I painted patches of acrylic paint and then used a baby wipe to get rid of the colour from the open stencil areas. it kind of creates a reverse stencil impression. </div>
<br />

I purchased an old Uniquely Creative kit a little while ago and split the contents with my mum. It works well because I do the layouts and she makes the cards. We've caught up for two crafting sessions so far and I've managed to only create one layout but it's still a lot of fun. :) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8--SxNRnkx4/Wumt8uTv1aI/AAAAAAAAegM/Tc3YPMqQStIoxXI4BtbyF4sK5xrAtCIGACLcBGAs/s1600/DSC01624.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8--SxNRnkx4/Wumt8uTv1aI/AAAAAAAAegM/Tc3YPMqQStIoxXI4BtbyF4sK5xrAtCIGACLcBGAs/s640/DSC01624.JPG" width="636" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
All this fussy cutting is why it's taken me so long to complete the layout! I like the end effect as there is quite a bit of depth to it but it was a bit tedious at the time. The kit contained two rolls of different rose gold washi tape which I just love.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rmiumURsMQY/Wumt_hfDMWI/AAAAAAAAegQ/oW_Y9a1eSPQ5SCYUiHydqTLHw8dAmmFRACLcBGAs/s1600/DSC01628.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rmiumURsMQY/Wumt_hfDMWI/AAAAAAAAegQ/oW_Y9a1eSPQ5SCYUiHydqTLHw8dAmmFRACLcBGAs/s400/DSC01628.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I've included a combination of fussy cut elements, die-cut pieces from the Kaisercraft pack and sentiments made by Uniquely Creative to match the kit. Plus, the kit comes with a huge pack of sequins!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Whoa, what's this? Another layout just two days after the last one! I'm a little bit surprised myself but it's a public holiday here today and we've had family staying with us which has given me a bit of extra time to craft while they look after Harrison. The craft room is still not sorted or organised but I'm feeling much more relaxed for having had a chance to get messy. :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uMR-Fm8yQUg/WuAB3gpMBsI/AAAAAAAAeeo/4dXd8PzkNfMpC-CAvI3Um49GqeleCydaQCLcBGAs/s1600/DSC01618.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1596" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uMR-Fm8yQUg/WuAB3gpMBsI/AAAAAAAAeeo/4dXd8PzkNfMpC-CAvI3Um49GqeleCydaQCLcBGAs/s640/DSC01618.JPG" width="638" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I like the lopsided background on this one, with the layers of paper only down the left side. I've actually used the same Kaisercraft Christmas papers as in my '<a href="http://lozcraft.blogspot.com.au/2018/04/first-cuddle.html">First Cuddle</a>' layout from earlier in this month, but the end effect is such a different type of layout.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOIUPu-0nyAB2NLS7I9g3adnGclsxCBKkKPxZVtiBLN0VZwU0JXKOn5pwfX4QTcLTjMfG2khT73G2-zydst-BvTejgaWRaKk5Pa_5FyB7x6bLOLsoByD0PTQ9nc_P2sKmX2UdoU9SuY_I/s1600/DSC01621.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: transparent; color: #0066cc; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; margin-left: 16px; margin-right: 16px; orphans: 2; text-align: center; text-decoration: underline; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOIUPu-0nyAB2NLS7I9g3adnGclsxCBKkKPxZVtiBLN0VZwU0JXKOn5pwfX4QTcLTjMfG2khT73G2-zydst-BvTejgaWRaKk5Pa_5FyB7x6bLOLsoByD0PTQ9nc_P2sKmX2UdoU9SuY_I/s400/DSC01621.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I continued the background techniques onto some scrap craft paper and created two tags to add some extra layers. The bottom tag is taped down but the top one has my journaling hidden on the reverse. </div>
<b></b><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2wscR7Z0kvg/WuAB7AIH4sI/AAAAAAAAeew/0Nj1H5Cj-vsXqWzW8AAPUQy1LVgI-E6mgCLcBGAs/s1600/DSC01620.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2wscR7Z0kvg/WuAB7AIH4sI/AAAAAAAAeew/0Nj1H5Cj-vsXqWzW8AAPUQy1LVgI-E6mgCLcBGAs/s400/DSC01620.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #000120;">I've used some art journal techniques again on this layout to build up some depth in the background, including three different stamps and some hand-drawn plus signs. I LOVE this crosses washi tape, it is just so versatile. I also couldn't go past adding some <a href="http://papertoleaustralia.com/">Scrapmatts</a> Word Art pieces.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My layouts just don't seem finished unless I've added some sequins these days. :) Sequins and the very cool wood veneer shapes are from <a href="http://d-lishscraps.openstores.com.au/">D-lish Scraps</a>. </div>

This layout was created for the <a href="https://kraftpluschallenges.blogspot.com.au/2018/04/april-something-old-something-new.html">April Kraft+</a> challenge. Something old: Kaisercraft patterned papers and the photos, which are from 2013. Something new: two Kaisercraft stamps, I've had them for a while but this was the first time I've used either of them. Something borrowed: I've scraplifted <a href="http://startingtoscrap.blogspot.com.au/2014/03/swirlydoos-march-kit-reveal-blog-hop.html">this layout</a> by Georgia Heald. Something blue: the church, the ink splatters, the stenciling, the sequins.</div>

I couldn't decide between creating an art journal page or a scrapbooking layout, so decided to combine the two and go with a layout with an art journal type background. I like the result and think this is worth experimenting with further.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kIUpialH1a4/Wt8FYcnoVmI/AAAAAAAAeeA/ANb1k3797isSfFSi3Y2b0Q0W3MzVunQOQCLcBGAs/s1600/DSC01615.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kIUpialH1a4/Wt8FYcnoVmI/AAAAAAAAeeA/ANb1k3797isSfFSi3Y2b0Q0W3MzVunQOQCLcBGAs/s640/DSC01615.JPG" width="638" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The background started with a wash of two blue Gelatos. I applied some colour acrylic paints through stencils and white gesso over the top of it all for some more texture. A bit of tissue pattern, builders tape and ribbon formed the middle layers.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FVA4YTlJ__I/Wt8FVsTfBKI/AAAAAAAAed0/58eAJ7L8-W85j3uoA2wRf5Dp0ZoQFv20QCLcBGAs/s1600/DSC01610.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FVA4YTlJ__I/Wt8FVsTfBKI/AAAAAAAAed0/58eAJ7L8-W85j3uoA2wRf5Dp0ZoQFv20QCLcBGAs/s400/DSC01610.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Kaisercraft die-cuts and an Accent Scrapbooking flair form the main cluster. Enamel dots and washi tape accents from D-lish Scraps. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zYnLt8IWDtI/Wt8FW9XQe4I/AAAAAAAAed8/J5E3xgBFGqkscYjxdUSuWYPr5QJ246vHQCLcBGAs/s1600/DSC01611.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zYnLt8IWDtI/Wt8FW9XQe4I/AAAAAAAAed8/J5E3xgBFGqkscYjxdUSuWYPr5QJ246vHQCLcBGAs/s400/DSC01611.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This crocodile was the start of the whole layout and I love how cute he is! The photo mat is built up of a couple of different pieces of scrap papers because I'm trying to slowly work my way through the lifetime supply of paper I have.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We went to visit my parents for a long weekend and they took us to East Shores Precinct. Harrison had the time of his life! Looking through the photos again makes me think I might need to scrapbook a few more of these. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This layout was inspired by the April challenge over at <a href="http://csichallenge.blogspot.com.au/">CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration</a>. They have simplified the rules recently, so if you've been thinking of playing in the past but held back, now is the time to join in!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I couldn't go past this cute lama image. It reminded me of the die-cut animals I had from Kaisercraft, which lead to the crocodile which reminded me of Harrison's swimmers. I took the rest of my inspiration from the colour scheme. </div>

After getting SO messy on my last art journal page, I actually just wanted to create a quick and clean layout. I thought the easiest way to do this would be to grab a <a href="http://d-lishscraps.openstores.com.au/">D-lish Scraps</a> Just-Add-Paper kit and was so right: all I had to add was some Kaisercraft paper.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZaRutNpES90/Ws3tAy1YyeI/AAAAAAAAecY/tBcOkBm7NBE5RJcAaT_Z60IAU1GMu7QSQCLcBGAs/s1600/DSC01602.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZaRutNpES90/Ws3tAy1YyeI/AAAAAAAAecY/tBcOkBm7NBE5RJcAaT_Z60IAU1GMu7QSQCLcBGAs/s640/DSC01602.JPG" width="638" /></a></div>
<br />
<div align="center">
The inking ended up messier than I'd anticipated due to using an old ink pad that had stored the ink oddly, but I decided to just go with it. Since it was already a little messy, I couldn't help but add some gesso through the stencil that came with the kit. I love a white-on-white background for a subtle effect. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This layout was created for the <a href="http://scraptheboys.blogspot.com.au/">Scrap The Boys</a> challenge for April which is 'Let's Go Geo'. I used rectangles for my background paper shapes and stars as my feature embellishment shape.</div>

I'd had one of those days where I just needed to relieve some stress so I wanted to crack open the paints and get messy. I didn't have a plan or project in mind, but I remembered I hadn't tried Leanne Jago's Soul Starter prompt from the Soul Journey 2018 facebook group I'm part of. After taking one of Leanne's classes in person a while ago I knew it would be just what I needed and it worked a treat!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I changed the quote for the page, because I only had a feather stencil to work with as my main image on the page. I liked this one, as to me it's about not overthinking things and just getting out there and giving life a go. The quote I found on Pinterest said 'build your wings on the way <i>down</i>' but I thought if I've got wings why am I going down when I could soar?</div>
<br />

I think I need to work on letting some more of the layers continue to show through. You can barely see the paper doilies and book page strips from the bottom layer.</div>

Just popping in with a quick birthday card I whipped up yesterday. The background and flowers were actually done during a Natalie May class at a scrapbooking expo but I never got around to finishing them off. I fussy cut the flowers, added the white highlights, a black pen border to the background and created the sentiment cluster.</div>

Here is my second guest design team reveal for Flutterby Designs. I've picked the pineapple themed pieces out of the Good Vibes Only release for this one, because they were just perfect for these photos of our visit to The Big Pineapple on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
This card from the Everyday Etc. Photo Cards pack was my inspiration for the whole layout. I loved it as soon as a I saw it. The white space in the top left was perfect for adding a couple of extra embellishments. I've used a circle from a Kaisercraft paper pad and changed the quote from 'enjoy the little things' to 'enjoy the BIG things', plus a splatter of green ink to tie it into the background.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My main embellishment cluster has a page tab and flair from the Good Vibes only range, as well as a fussy cut pineapple from the Everyday Etc. Filler Photo Cards pack. I've used two other cards from that pack to create my photo mat. The beautiful die-cut is from Couture Creations.</div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #000120;">Up in the top cluster I've used some off-cuts of the blue from the photo mat plus a sentiment from the Sticky Quick Quotes sheet. The flair is from Accent scrapbooking.</span></div>

<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-n69D3KR_K5I/Wrd8QJBO43I/AAAAAAAAeZU/qoa-6jngPqUey1NEFg2kNXTqZgBzpAQNQCLcBGAs/s1600/DSC01307.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-n69D3KR_K5I/Wrd8QJBO43I/AAAAAAAAeZU/qoa-6jngPqUey1NEFg2kNXTqZgBzpAQNQCLcBGAs/s400/DSC01307.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This layout gave me so much grief because it ALMOST worked but then just didn't no matter what I tried. This was my first attempt, below. What should have been a vibrant blue to match the photo mat ended up being a teal that just looked out of place.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hNl4FfGmsH8/WreEaNV23wI/AAAAAAAAeZs/RjGB3Hozb3c_1NRbOkycVMfS43Mq1f9VwCLcBGAs/s1600/DSC01287.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1598" data-original-width="1600" height="319" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hNl4FfGmsH8/WreEaNV23wI/AAAAAAAAeZs/RjGB3Hozb3c_1NRbOkycVMfS43Mq1f9VwCLcBGAs/s320/DSC01287.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This led me to HANDPAINT all the drips again to turn them green. I added a couple more embellishments but then decided it was overworked. Plus, as much as I loved the colours of the big photo mat at the top, it just didn't work with the layout. </div>

<span style="color: #000120;">Here we have my fourth project from the Workshop Wonders class I attended at The Crafty Chain. This is probably the one I free-styled the most on, possibly because it was the last class of the day and I finished a lot of it at home. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #000032;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #000050;">I'm not normally a fan of these off-set border type layouts, but I think having the paint splatters go across the whole page has made it a bit more cohesive. </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kk62OLta4Rk/WrnhzyrvRMI/AAAAAAAAeaI/nTZX8nQdsnkQeNb44AUOHrkrw62Sol3_gCLcBGAs/s1600/DSC01278.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kk62OLta4Rk/WrnhzyrvRMI/AAAAAAAAeaI/nTZX8nQdsnkQeNb44AUOHrkrw62Sol3_gCLcBGAs/s640/DSC01278.JPG" width="638" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
In this class we used a Vaseline-smeared stamp to create a background resist which we then highlighted using Shimmer cubes. It's not a technique I'd used before so it was interesting to try something new. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-NFm7AM85wV4/Wrnh1olwM8I/AAAAAAAAeaM/nPD59udJbpondTQw8eJ0cst7rKRWRPLDgCLcBGAs/s1600/DSC01281.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-NFm7AM85wV4/Wrnh1olwM8I/AAAAAAAAeaM/nPD59udJbpondTQw8eJ0cst7rKRWRPLDgCLcBGAs/s400/DSC01281.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My die-cut border has some extra Scrapmatts chipboard fitted in because I have a stockpile of them. :) I loved the effect of knotting the twine from the anchor.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-F54yP_caFog/Wrnh42Khn8I/AAAAAAAAeaQ/agWcuT36SJwyfJR20kHi5Nt2l5qfbKm9ACLcBGAs/s1600/DSC01282.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-F54yP_caFog/Wrnh42Khn8I/AAAAAAAAeaQ/agWcuT36SJwyfJR20kHi5Nt2l5qfbKm9ACLcBGAs/s400/DSC01282.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div align="center">
I also popped some white muslin behind my photo matt, just to soften the overall effect.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vfkgL7TSZbc/Wrnh5xWGv1I/AAAAAAAAeaU/pTYpFgCAYWI1YqAogSj825YJHTntycrMQCLcBGAs/s1600/DSC01283.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vfkgL7TSZbc/Wrnh5xWGv1I/AAAAAAAAeaU/pTYpFgCAYWI1YqAogSj825YJHTntycrMQCLcBGAs/s400/DSC01283.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is the teacher's example.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The third Workshop Wonders class was one I was really looking forward to doing, as it was a canvas taught by <a aria-controls="js_17c" aria-describedby="js_17d" aria-haspopup="true" data-hovercard-prefer-more-content-show="1" data-hovercard="/ajax/hovercard/user.php?id=1209190945&extragetparams=%7B%22directed_target_id%22%3A158171548312237%7D" href="https://www.facebook.com/leanne.jago" id="js_17e" style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: transparent; color: #365899; cursor: pointer; font-family: Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: underline; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;">Leanne Jago</a><span style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: transparent; color: #4b4f56; display: inline !important; float: none; font-family: Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;">. <span style="color: black; font-family: inherit; font-size: small;">Leanne does amazing mixed media pieces and it was great to be exposed to her techniques to build up a range of different layers and textures. Unfortunately, her expected materials hadn't arrived in time for the class so we all had to improvise a bit with substitute products.</span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: transparent; display: inline !important; float: none; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;"><span style="color: black; font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0CR-qH8ltD0/WrDykWGMvYI/AAAAAAAAeX0/Ts0-l09BLeU3zNoSojwkd75pIQEgnI-UQCLcBGAs/s1600/DSC01271.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1272" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0CR-qH8ltD0/WrDykWGMvYI/AAAAAAAAeX0/Ts0-l09BLeU3zNoSojwkd75pIQEgnI-UQCLcBGAs/s640/DSC01271.JPG" width="505" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #000120;">I'm not sure Leanne would entirely approved of the fact I've added some bling to the butterflies but I couldn't help myself. I just love adding sparkle to projects and I had these left over from the first class. :) This detail shot also shows off the aquarelle pencil for all that watercolour-black effect and some great bits of crackle texture. </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JdEH-I1RaUg/WrDyvo4HmbI/AAAAAAAAeYA/IIOGjtmHDuov4exsOUoK5G8kXNcQHX-gACLcBGAs/s1600/DSC01272.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JdEH-I1RaUg/WrDyvo4HmbI/AAAAAAAAeYA/IIOGjtmHDuov4exsOUoK5G8kXNcQHX-gACLcBGAs/s400/DSC01272.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm normally not a bit fan of using vintage images in my work but when I saw this girl in my kit with her smug smile and hand on her gun I just had to use her. I thought her attitude went perfectly with the Flutterby Designs sticker sentiments. I also killed my brand new Posca pen trying to outline the girl to make her stand out, only to decide the effect was too subtle and used white gesso instead. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9MdMaXyIYxM/WrDyvhqIwkI/AAAAAAAAeX8/V6kvz1e1TcAIZv2BfHflpHjfxmgaN6YSACLcBGAs/s1600/DSC01274.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9MdMaXyIYxM/WrDyvhqIwkI/AAAAAAAAeX8/V6kvz1e1TcAIZv2BfHflpHjfxmgaN6YSACLcBGAs/s400/DSC01274.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This shows the multiple layers: gesso base/crackle medium/acrylic paint/white embossing powder applied to glue through a stencil/brown ink drizzles/acrylic paint smudged on with fingers/stamping/mist splatters.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This was Leanne's sample piece. You can see that I've stuck very close to her design but gotten quite a different finished product just with some different paint colours. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The beautiful due is by Couture Creations and we each got a brand new included in the class kit. The background technique was a fun one to learn as well, though as is often the case for me I didn't extend it far enough past my photos. It's made on Kaisercraft specialty embossed paper using Twinkling H20's and baby wipes to create a beautifully soft blended effect. </div>

<span style="color: #000120;">I was craving some crafting time over the weekend but my new scrap room isn't set up yet. Luckily, I had signed up for the Workshop Wonders event being held at The Crafty Chain! Four classes with four different teaches over the course of a day, it also included lunch, snacks and a lolly bar.</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This was the first layout, by <a aria-controls="js_vu" aria-describedby="js_vv" aria-haspopup="true" data-hovercard-prefer-more-content-show="1" data-hovercard="/ajax/hovercard/user.php?id=586901684&extragetparams=%7B%22directed_target_id%22%3A158171548312237%7D" href="https://www.facebook.com/kelbyh" id="js_vw" style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: transparent; color: #365899; cursor: pointer; font-family: Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;">Kelly-ann Oosterbeek</a><span style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: transparent; color: #4b4f56; display: inline !important; float: none; font-family: Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;">. It has a LOT of fussy cutting. I tried something different for me and left more of a border around the image so I could cut faster. Having an 'edge' normally annoys me, but it worked into the background on this layout. </span></div>

The beautiful butterfly stickers are made by Kelly-ann herself. I should have picked up a couple of packets but I couldn't work out what shade I wanted. I learnt a nifty trick, that if you want the wings to stay popped up you just place a pearl/rhinestone underneath.</div>

Looking at the layout now I almost wish I had purchased a second sheet of the wreath paper, so I could fussy cut out a few more flowers and raise them up. I'm still undecided if I will add some more to this one or not.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Anyway, below is what Kelly-ann's version looked like. You can see I really didn't move too far from the sample here. I think I was too tired after all the cutting. :)</div>
