30th Birthday Celebrations

Today was my 30th birthday however I celebrated a week early with my friends due to having other plans this week (which I'll blog about in the coming days).

We started with a group of 6 girlfriends, my sister and I enjoying a 2 hour pampering experience at Endota Spa Broadbeach. I've always found Endota to be a clean and reliable day spa, despite being a franchise, so was very excited when I learnt there was one opening in Broadbeach. I've been a couple of time since it opened and never been disappointed.

This is my sister and I posing before our treatments. I included cute panda eye masks in little gift bags for all the ladies along with a nail file, temp tattoo, soap and a Lindt chocolate.

We then headed back to Peppers Broadbeach to get ready in the two bedroom suite I had booked. The Peppers experience was fantastic. I had let them know I was celebrating my birthday when I booked and was wished a happy birthday whilst checking in. There was also complimentary bubbly, balloons and a birthday card signed by some of the staff waiting in the room. The quality of the suite was amazing and to be honest I was a little disappointed we didn't get to spend more time in there. :)

I totally forgot to get any photos of the dinner afterwards, guess I was too busy socialising. :) We went to Champagne Café.Restaurant.Bar for dinner, which specialises in French cuisine. I had a little heart attack the week before the party, as I found out the venue was actually closed for renovations and was changing from Champagne Brasserie to this new venue. Everything worked out in the end though and the food was fantastic.

It was quite a drama to find a party dress to go with my bump, but I finally found this sequined blue number and loved it. Big thank you to Jemma who offered to do my hair and make up for the night!

Alice in Wonderland High Tea for 29th Birthday and The Color Run.

I took some time away from scrapbooking memories to go create some new ones this weekend and had such a ball doing it. On Saturday I had my 29th birthday party at RACV Royal Pines Panorma Lounge with an Alice in Wonderland themed high tea. I love high tea's and the one at Royal Pines is very reasonably priced.

You can see a couple of my friends got into the costume theme, including my lovely husband down the end who came as the white rabbit (fluffy tail included). My costume was such a drama. I originally purchased a queen of hearts dress online but upon arrival I found it was too small and VERY short. I ended up wearing the skirt part, teaming it with a corset I already had and purchasing a jacket which I hope to be able to wear to work after this. The sequin hearts were originally on the top of the dress so I unstitched them and put thme on safety pins to form badges which I placed on the collar. It's finished with some high white socks and red shoes. It ended up looking pretty anime but still pretty cool.

No party is complete without some decorations. I went with six of these cute little card guards, plus some chocolates and bottles for all the guests. We had the bottles left over from our wedding two years ago so thought it was time to use them up. I also created a feature tea pot but I'll share that tomorrow to keep the total photos in this post down.

On Sunday we had The Swisse Color Run on the Gold Coast. It was originally scheduled for April but was rained out then. I was a bit nervous about running the 5km this time as I hadn't been able to keep up my training for the last two months due to working in the city but I needed have worried as it was a very easy course and we walked/danced quite a bit of it.

Here is my team, The Runbows, at the start of the day.

In the finish festival and Nadia had pelted me with her purple powder:

Here we are right at the end, having been in the finish festival for quite a while. As you can see, it was a whole heap of fun and a scrapbookers dream with all these colourful photos. :)

My 28th Birthday

Nothing crafty to show from last weekend but that's because I had my family fly up from Melbourne to celebrate my 28th birthday. Mum and Dad come up on Wednesday and we went to the Asutralian Outback Spectacular. It was quite an entertaining show and the meal is pretty good.

I had taken some time off work to spend with them so we all went bowling on the Friday after enjoying high tea at Royal Pines.

Unfortunately, Ben's brother scheduled his engagement party that weekend in Melbourne so he flew down while my brother, sister and her partner flew up to spend the weekend with me. We went to the football as I'm a pretty big Gold Coast Suns supported. They're a hard team to follow though as the stadium was celebrating it's 1 year birthday and they are still yet to get a win there. :(

I managed to talk my family into posing for some old time photos. I thought the serious one matched the theme but the smiling one is much more suited to our family.

We spent the last day just enjoying the beach and great Gold Coast weather. You can tell I'm the local because I'm all rugged up and complaining it's too chilly out of the sun. :) I think I ended up getting a little bit sunburnt on my nose.

Anyway, it was a great way to celebrate my birthday. Now I just need some time to recover from such an action packed weekend before the next one. Hopefully I'll get some crafting done then.

I'm a winner! And birthday photos.

I won the A2Z Scraplets prize pack for May over at Challenge Heaven! Given I love chipboard, I'm very happy about this. :) Might give me the inspiration I need to start creating my entries for this month.

In non-scrapping or crafty new, it was my birthday on the 26th I went out to celebrate with some friends last night. We started with ten-pin bowling (I bowled 191 for the second game!) and finished with Tepanyki for dinner.

Donna, me and Sarah at bowling.

25th Birthday Dinner Photos

I'm not really intending to put too much info about my life on this blog, since it was really created just to show off whatever craft pursuits I happened to be creating, but I figured since birthdays only come once a year a few photos should be fine. :)
It's my birthday this Tuesday, so I arranged to go out to dinner with some friends last Saturday. We just popped down to the local Malysian restaurant then came home for cake. It was a great night, lots of laughter and good company.

Donna, me and Sarah mucking around for photos, first at the restaurant and then at home.
It's not a birthday without cake! Benny made me a rasberry swirl cake with pink icing.

Benny and I relaxing after a great night out.
