I have always loved attending the Royal Melbourne Show since I can remember. I never go on any of the rides, but enjoy checking out all the animal competitions and the beautiful handcraft exhibits. I know people complain it is expensive these days, but it really depends on what you want to do and what you pack to bring in with you.
We moved to the Gold Coast in 2007 and I was delighted to see that also had an annual agricultural Show so dragged Ben along to check it out. It was much smaller than the Melbourne Show, with a much stronger focus on the country aspects, so naturally I loved it and Ben found it very boring. :) They had a stunning scrapbook competition on display and I thought about entering at some stage. I didn't have the confidence in 2008 but decided to try my luck in 2009. Here is a recording of my placings since.
