From the Heart - D-lish Scraps DT

D-lish Scraps runs monthly cybercrops from mid-month to mid-month over on Facebook at The Scrap Suite and I was lucky enough to create one of the challenge samples for this month! My theme is 'Frame It' - use at least one frame on your layout. There are so many interesting designs using frames at the moment, I'd love to see what you create if you enter.

I have used a whole range of different flowers from D-lish Scraps, as well as the leaves, polaroid frame, sequins, flair and arrow paperclip. Chipboard flourish is from Scrapmatts. The beautiful paper range is from Blue Fern Studios.

Cocktails

In October 2016 I took a short girls trip to Hawaii. It was lovely to have some time out to relax and explore a new location. While none of us are big drinkers, we did get into the holiday spirit by having a cocktail before each evening meal.

As soon as I saw the DLish Scraps Just Add Paper kit I thought of this photo. I just loved the colour scheme, and getting all the embellishments sent to me makes creating a layout so much easier. I also used some beautiful Cocoa Vanilla papers I found hidden away in my stash that matched perfectly.

This layout was created for the Dlish Scraps January challenge.

Adore You

I was flicking through some old photos to see if I had anything to match the D-lish Scraps mood board when I came across a series of photos from Harrison's first swim. How hilarious does he look with that bald head and so much chubbiness?! This is why I print my photos, rather than just store them on the computer. I need to have them at hand and randomly come across them to scrap.

Chipboard and stencils are from Scrapmatts. Papers, title stickers and die cut frames are from Kaisercraft. I have used D-lish enamel dots and the seahorse flair from a past JAP kit.

I was inspired by all the geometric shapes in the mood board, so kept a lot of them in my layout. I also referenced the arrows and the frames. Such a lovely colour scheme.

Love You

The Sweet Nothings Just Add Paper Kit over at D-lish Scraps was too good to pass up! I loved the colour scheme and the love theme, plus it made putting together this layout so easy. The beautiful black and white photo was taken by Divine Life Photography on the Gold Coast for Harrison's first birthday. The papers are a mish-mash of different Kaisercraft scraps I had lying around.

I love using these kits because I normally do alright getting paper layers happening but always struggle with the embellishment side of things. Here you can see the flowers, journal tabs, glitter edging strip, wood veneer, washi tape and doily all being put to good use.

The best part about the Just Add Paper kits is that they always match the mood board for the month, so I'm entering this layout in that too.

Little Man @ One

I ordered some photos from Harrison's first birthday shoot (by Divine Life Photography) to put in a frame in our living room, but I accidently ordered the wrong size. I couldn't work out what I was going to do with five 10x8 sized photos, until I thought of scrapping them. Not sure why it took me so long to work that one out, I'm going to blame it on only using 4x6 photos for so long.

It's hard to believe my little man is already one! He's just a little bundle of energy so lots of fun but also exhausting. :) I really liked that our photo shoot captured some special daddy-son moments like this one.

This is a pretty simple design as I really wanted the photo and information to be the features. Papers and flair are from the Flying High range by Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I'm going to use this layout for challenge #3 over at The Scrap Suite in their cyber-crop, the theme is 'Lets Hear It For The Boys'.

Cute Little Bum

**Don't forget to enter my giveaway!**

I snapped this photo the other day, just because I had my phone handy while Harry was playing. I think it's adorable, though my husband was a bit bemused as to why I would scrap it. I'm trying to get a mixture of milestones and everyday moments into Harry's album, because I'm sure I will forget something like this as time goes on.

I was runner up in Kaisercraft's January competition and chose to receive my prize pack from the Blue Bay range. I don't know how I missed this collection, it is beautiful and so versatile.

This layout was created for the D-lish Scraps March cybercrop. I have been part of their Scrap Suite for ages but must have accidently turned off notifications for the facebook group so had forgotten about their great crops. Challenge #3 this month uses the great sketch below. Loved having to scrap a smaller sized photo. The brown leaves are from D-lish.

My Boys

**Don't forget to enter my giveaway!**

We had a newborn photo shoot when Harry was nine days old. Even just seven months later I look at them and doubt he was ever really that small, which may have something to do with the fact he's a real chunky bubba now. We have given copies of the prints to the grandparents for presents and I'm now slowly working my way through scrapbooking some of them.

I created this layout for the March D-lish Scraps challenge. I was inspired by the colours, though my blue ended up a bit lighter than the mood board. The bottom left image with all the frames made me create a layout with lots of rectangles and geometric elements. There were so many flowers in the mood board I couldn't resist adding one to my layout too. The flairs and flower are from D-lish Scraps.

Because the D-lish Scraps sketch didn't work for the photo I wanted to use, I worked from this sketch:

Merimbula 1999

I was lucky enough to be the random winner at D-lish Scraps last month and received a February 'Just Add Paper' pack. I had been looking at these packs for a few months but hadn't purchased one previously. This pack was fantastic, especially for someone like me who has trouble getting the extra embellishments down. Anyway, the Feb mood board and matching pack was beach themed with lots of this beautiful blue colour. I went through my old photos and came across these two from a family holiday 15 years ago.

It's funny what you remember when looking back at holidays from a long time ago. I remember we listed to the Melbourne Storm win a grand final on the radio while we were driving there. I remember we stayed in a weird shaped unit because I randomly stabbed my finger at the page in the accommodation book during a teenaged hissy fit when dad was booking it. I remember even then I wasn't really a beach person so while the rest of my family went in the water I stayed on the sand and built a sand castle.

The kitwas fantastic and I really didn't need to add much to it. I washed the cardstock with Dylusions ink, used some Kaiserkraft Sandy Toes paper to mat the photos on, threw on a silver embossed Scrapmatts chipboard starfish (love the way the detail still comes through the embossing), the silver washi tape and the aphas. Here is the mood board:

Say Cheese LO

After doing a mini-Christmas photo shoot at home in December I snapped a couple of candid shots of Harrison and myself before I packed everything up. I loved how this one turned out, with his eyes locked on the camera and such a cheeky smile. This is the smile I get so often but it's hard to catch on camera.

I wasn't happy with the first version of this layout but played with it again today to add the title (over the old journaling) and added some new journaling. I like it more now. Does anyone else do that? Think that you're done with a project, only to rework it when you look at it again a few days later.

This layout was inspired by the mood board over at D-lish Scraps for this month. The colours are so bright and cheerful I just couldn't resist them, plus I really liked the sketch. D-lish Scraps is an amazing online store, I love their range of flare buttons and they have just released fantastic monochrome mini-kits. They also have a huge range of very affordable flowers and cheap postage. My flowers on this layout (and most of my recent projects) are from the store.

Strike a Pose

After the very traditional non-messy layout I created yesterday I had to go a different style this time around and pulled out the mists, stamps, gesso and stencils. This layout is also for D-lish Scraps 5th birthday cybercrop. Photos are proofs from a photoshoot Ben and I did almost 10 years ago, I've had them sitting around for that whole time without scrapping them however recently re-discovered them.

Challenge #2 is a sketch challenge, which I always enjoy doing. Like always, I have stuck very close to the original design of the sketch. I love getting to see all the different interpretations of the same sketch, some of the entries are just stunning.

Once again, I have utilised an adorable D-lish Scrap flair in this design, along with some wood veneer, buttons, threads and one of the great new Scrapmatts chipboard pieces.

Cufflinks

D-lish Scraps is having a 5th birthday cybercrop weekend long celebration and I was inspired to take part. It felt so good to be creating something that wasn't for a design team. It was a bit odd not to pull out the paints or mists for the background though.

Challenge #1 was a scraplift challenge. It has been quite a long time since I've done a scraplift and it really helped the layout come together quite quickly. Tarrah used a photo of her groom's shoes, I have chosen to use a photo of my hasband's cufflinks on our wedding day. These cufflinks were loaned to him from his grandfather who wore them on his wedding day. I have also kept the layers and overall placement of many of the items from Tarrah's layout.

I recently received a shipment of wonderful D-lish Scraps goodies and have used one of the flairs on this LO.
