Love This City LO and Pencil Eye ATC

This is my first entry for February's Challenge Heaven. It's for the 'transport' theme and had to use inks. I've picked a photo of Ben and I on a tram at Melbourne and used some old packaging paper which has different maps on it as the main background paper. The big embellishment cluster is a bit different for me but I'm really happy with the end result.

This ATC is the final one in the series for the pencil/charcol swap I'm taking part in.

Pencil Portrait ATCs

ATCsforAll.com has a pencil/charcol swap running at the moment. Since I enjoy working with lead pencils I just had to sign up. It's taken me a while to decide what theme I wanted to go with but last night I decided on portraits. Here are the two I completed last night.

Some ATC's, finally!

I'm spending time at home with my mum at the moment and she is into making ATC's. We went to Paperific last Sunday and made some cards to trade however were sadly disappointed no one else was there to trade with. Anyway, it meant I made 9 cards for the first time in months. The theme was 'Sense of Time'.

I also owed mum a RAK, so drew up this card yesterday.

Alice and a Pencil Eye

I decided that some of my available cards have been in my gallery too long so gave them a bit of a re-make. The Alice card below I made over so much I decided to count it as a new card.

Card 101/365: New Cup

I think I might try doing a series of these pencil eye cards, they're quite fun and I always enjoy doing pencil work.

Pencil Eye ATC's

The winner of my blog giveaway requested an eye themed ATC as part of their prize. The card below is the one I created.

Card 91/ 365: Pencil Eye I

I also needed to create a card for the 100 post giveaway over at Project 365 and decided to go with the eye theme again. Tried it on a different paper this time, I think the shading is a bit smoother the second time round.

Go check out this link if you want a chance to win the above card and 20 other great ATCs!

Project 365 - Vintage Old Couple

I decided to do a pencil drawing for today's Project 365 card, since I haven't done any pencil work in a LONG time and I actually brought them with me to Melbourne. Found a lovely photo of an older couple and worked from that for a few hours this morning. I'm generally happy with it but they look younger in my card than the photo.

March PAT ATCs

Here is the results of the project I've been working on today. At my Artist Trading Card (ATC) online group they run Pick-A-Theme (PAT) swaps. Basically, you sign up into a group and select the theme you want to receive. In return, you need to make one card for each other group member in their requested theme. It's quite a challenge sometimes, but also a good way to get cards on themes which wouldn't normally get enough interest for a whole swap. These are the cards I did for group 5 of the March PAT, which had to be hand-drawn or painted:

The request was a realistic landscape with moutains. I am well aware that landscapes are not my strong point so this was a challenge. I think I do them better in acrylics, so will stick to that from now on.
This request for for a celebrity portrait. I based this off a photo reference of Edward Norton, my favourite actor. While I'm happy with the picture itself, I don't think it looks like him. I didn't manage to capture his distinctive smile.

The request was for skulls for this one. I actually really like the end result.

This last card was a request for an Art Nouveau Queen or Goddess. The lineart is referenced from an image by another artist who put it up as a colouring-in picture.
That's it from me for now. I have to go catch up on some research, so I'm not sure if I'll get any crafting done over the weekend. Hope you have a good one.
